FIGHTING STRETCH MARKS – NOT ONLY A PREGNANCY PROBLEM

A very common problem that many of my pregnant patients complain about is STRETCH MARKS.  Stretch marks typically occur on the belly, sides, thighs and butt.   Even though it is common in pregnancy, it can occur with weight changes.  It often effects women but can effect men.

Stretch marks occur because the skin lacks elasticity.  ELASTICITY, WHAT’S THAT?

WELL, elasticity is a material’s ability to resume its normal shape after being stretched or compressed.

Collagen is responsible for our skin’s elasticity.  It is the most abundant protein in our body.  It is found in our muscles, bones and skin.  If we have strong and effective collagen than our skin will stretch and contract back to normal.  HOWEVER, if the collagen is weak, our stretched skin continues to stay stretched…  UGLY STRETCH MARKS!!!

WELL, WHAT ARE WE TO DO?

There is a solution.

The first step is bleach the stretch marks.  I recommend Rebrightalize Enhancement Therapy from Topix.  It contains an patented mixture of Kojic Acid, Artbutin and Bearberry that brightens skin and promotes even tone.  It also contains Vitamin C which is integral to strengthening Collagen.  The treatment is safe for use in pregnancy and with breastfeeding.  In addition, Hydroquinone can be added to enhance the bleaching effect.  However, it is not safe in pregnancy nor with breastfeeding.  Also, people with dark skin should be careful when using Hydroquinone as it may bleach the skin lighter than their natural skin color.

The next step is to tighten the skin.  Here is where Replenix Retinol Smoothing Body Lotion comes in.  This lotion contains a special blend that tightens skin.  The Leontopodium Alpinum lifts and tightens skin.  Hyaluronic Acid assists in hydrating the skin and giving it a plump look.  The Green Tea Polyphenol calms and sooths skin.  The result…  TIGHTER, SOFTER, YOUNGER LOOKING SKIN

Many of my patients notice marked reduction in their stretch marks after 1-2 months of the treatment.
