GYNECOLOGIC SURGERY

ENDOMETRIAL ABLATION

An Endometril Ablation is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to permanently stop abnormal bleeding in the uterus. Through the cervix, Dr. Sorkin inserts a camera to identify areas of bleeding. He then uses a laser-like device to cut out the sources of bleeding (eg. vessels, polyps, fibroids, adenomyosis) through the application of heat. This is a same day procedure, typically 45-60 minutes, and patients may go home an hour after the surgery.
