BIRTH CONTROL / FAMILY PLANNING

Women who are sexually active and wish to avoid “an accidental pregnancy” have a variety of birth control options. These are divided into two main categories: hormonal and non-hormonal. Hormonal methods include the oral contraceptive pill (daily), the patch (weekly), the vaginal ring (monthly) or Mirena IUD. Non-hormonal methods include condoms, spermicide, and Paraguard IUD. Pregnancy protection rates for all methods range from 95% to 99% when used correctly. Dr. Sorkin is always happy to discuss your needs and help you decide on a method that will be most effective and suits your lifestyle.
